DI ASU ERGÜLER
DI Asu Ergüler, CEO and head of the Board, has overall management responsibilities for all business aspects of RBM. In particular he focuses on competitiveness and good governance of RBM, corporate responsibility, business ethics, international relations, leadership and future trends.
He began his career in the area of environmental management with a special focus on sustainable development. He consulted to private sector and governments on development issues and climate change. Late 90s he was responsible for a global project; urban air pollution in mega cities of the developing world such as; Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Caracas, Mexico City or Johannesburg.
In 2004 his contribution to development on an international level earned him the honour of being named as a global leader on the topic of leadership and corporate citizenship. He was invited to United Nations Global Leaders Summit, which is still considered to be in UN history's largest and most significant invitation only event, chaired by UN Secretary Kofi Annan. As a part of the Millennium Development Project, the internationally agreed goals to reduce extreme poverty, disease, and hunger by the year 2015, he has participated, lectured, moderated many events globally with many prominent personalities like Kofi Annan, Jack Chirac, Tony Blair or Lula da Silva held at the United Nations, House of Lords, or Elysee Palace.
Prior to his present position he was general manager of Vienna based companies Energy Environment GmbH and SA Consulting GmbH specialised in clean energy investments.
Asu Ergüler holds a Bsc and Msc degrees in mechanical engineering, process engineering and chemical engineering from the Technical University of Vienna. He has also completed several World Bank Executive Development Programs. He speaks Turkish, English, German, French and Spanish.
ARNTHOR THORDORSON
MBA and B.Sc. Arnthor Thordarson CTO and member of the board is responsible for business development and engineering aspects of RBM. He is an economic and financial analyst and an energy sector specialist, with an extensive working experience with the World Bank/IFC and EBRD especially in Europe and Africa. For International Financial Institutions he has conducted various assignments such as power generation and heating, including Sector/Regulatory Framework Overview, Resource Mapping and identification of gaps in Investment Climate. While working as a banker in the Energy team at the EBRD, in 1993-1997 Arnthor managed a feasibility study into the Mutnovsky Geothermal Project in Russia as well as helping prepare many power sector and energy efficiency projects in the Baltic States, Belarus, Ukraine and Kyrgiztan.
As an electricity and financial expert he was also involved in the feasibility analysis, planning and implementation of projects in the power and energy sector projects word-wide.
Prior to joining RBM he was chief financial officer and partner at Iceland based engineering company Lota.
He holds holds a Bsc and Msc degrees in electrical engineering with a special focus on energy economics and efficiency from University of Iceland and a MBA from London Business School. He speaks Icelandic, English, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian.
DR. ANDREAS WEILER
Andreas Weiler acts as General Counsel to RBM and is fully responsible for all legal as well as compliance issues and Atopics within RBM. He holds a law degree from the University of Innsbruck, where he also served as Assistant Lecturer at the Institute for Commercial Law. Additionally, he has a degree in „International and European Relations“ from the University of Amsterdam. Being a native speaker in German, Mr. Weiler is also fluent in English and has a fair working knowledge in Italian and French.
Mr. Weiler has gained broad legal experience and expertise from his work with the Government of Tyrol, through his time as associate with Heller Löber Bahn & Partner, Vienna, and as an independent attorney. In addition to his other responsibilities he is founder and name-giving partner of Weiler & Kohlbacher, Attorneys at Law, spezialized in Commercial Law/Contracts, Corporate Law/Mergers & Acquisitions, Intelectual property and Administrative Law
THOMAS GROH
Thomas Groh, Dipl. Betriebsökonom FH, is COO and member of the board of RBM. He has 23 years of experience in coaching and advising companies in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), in restructuring and demanding corporate finance projects. Before co-founding RBM, he worked for Credit Suisse, Laufen Group, Continuum AG and, most recently, for Groh GmbH in Vienna and Basle, where he is partner and CEO. Thomas Groh has worked on several international projects, providing him with outstanding expertise in complex cross-border assessments and corporate transactions. He speaks German, English and French.
